Time and Location

Sullivan Ave Campus Monday Lunchtime Bible Reading Group - Room V205
Tuesdays 12.10 - 12.50pm Room N211 (Nurses block)

Who can attend?

Anyone interested in finding out about Jesus from the the Bible is more than welcome! You don't have to be a Christian, attend a particular church - or any church. You don't have to know anyone in the group. You don't have to read the Bible out loud, pray, sing or clap!

Who are we?

We are a group of Christians who attend Polytech and are eager to learn about Jesus from the Bible and see what it means for us.

Our group began in 2001 with two people reading the Bible together during lunchtimes. It has since grown to being 2 Bible study groups over the past few years, with as many as 20 people attending at a time. The group began with people who attended St John's Anglican Church Latimer Square (which is down the road in Madras St). However, while people still come from this church, there are people attending from many different churches around the city also.

We are a registered group of the Christchurch Polytechnic Students' Association.

The groups are led by Peter Collier (Above left, Assistant Minister of St John's Latimer Square) and Andrew Sinclair (Above right, Apprentice Worker at St John's).

What do we do?

We have meetings at the Madras street campus and at the Sullivan ave campus : Each week on Tuesday during lunchtime we look at a part of the Bible and have an interactive talk explaining it. Each session will be finished by 12.50 allowing plenty of time to get to the next class. There will be a chance for a chat over tea and coffee, and plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. You will be able to eat your lunch during the meeting. This year we are looking at Discovering Jesus from Matthew's biography of Jesus in the Bible.

We also have a group that meets Monday Lunchtime at the Sullivan Ave Campus reading through the Gospel of Matthew and discussing it together.. Anyone and everyone are welcome. Monday Lunch time V205 Sullivan Ave Campus
